The Art of Braiding Stories

June 15, 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm CDT
$80.00

Braiding stories is a means of making meaning shine.  The multiple levels of an older story can become relevant and deeply personal, when incidents, unusual or ordinary, in our lives can be seen as mythic and life changing.  Laura will tell one traditional tale as the ground of our exploration.  Discover the way the experience of the story triggers memory and reveals multiple meanings of a story, lived, imagined or remembered. Learn unique aspects of storytelling preparation, insights into how to tell a successful story, and the trick to the braiding of stories as a revelation, a delight and a reconnection to the nature of story, ecology, and self understanding. This is a workshop that is potent for experienced storytellers, writers, educators, therapists, ministers, healers, beginners, lovers of tales, and anyone who is seeking to have a deeper sense of what it is to live in the world today.

Workshop taught by Laura Simms
