Nestor Gomez

Narrated by dynamic, award-winning storyteller Nestor Gomez, this intimate and immersive performance tells Gomez’s personal stories – , memories of his native Guatemala, his family’s immigration to the United States and the social, cultural, and linguistic struggles he has navigated ever since.

Teller bio: Nestor “the boss” Gomez was born in Guatemala and moved to Chicago with his family in the mid-80’s. At that time he was undocumented, had a stutter and didn’t know English. He didn’t have a voice.

Today Nestor speaks English with a sexy Latin accent, has become an American citizen and a storyteller, winner of close to 100 Moth Slams. He found his voice. He is also the creator, producer, curator and host of “80 Minutes Around the World”. a storytelling show that features the stories of immigrants, their descendants and allies.

He has published a book of stories about his experiences as an Uber/Lyft driver title: Your Driver Has Arrived. HE has a second collection of stories to be published later this year. To learn more about Nestor visit his website
